Email Viewer: EML & MSG
Open .eml and .msg email files in a monday.com item. Read the message
where the work is, then use AI only when you choose to review requests and deadlines before
creating confirmed requests as subitems.
What Email Viewer does
- Finds supported email files in an item’s Files columns and update attachments.
- Shows the subject, sender, recipients, Cc, date, message body, and attachment details.
- Opens attached email files in the same view.
- Offers Summarize with AI only after you select it and accept the data notice.
- Lets you review suggested requests, edit names and due dates, and confirm subitem creation.
AI and your data
AI processing begins only after you select Summarize with AI and accept the notice. The email’s subject, sender, recipients, date, and text are sent to the app server on monday code in the EU region and then to OpenAI. Attachments are not sent. The result can include a summary, requests with exact quotes, and deadlines; review it before you create subitems, because AI can make mistakes.
The app and server do not retain full emails or AI summaries. During an unfinished subitem creation, monday storage keeps the selected request names, dates, and exact quotes needed to resume or discard that operation. Read the complete boundary in the Privacy Policy.
Before your first AI use, choose Connect monday in the AI block of an opened email and authorize Email Viewer in monday. Connect lets Email Viewer check whether AI is available. It does not send email content, start AI, or provide a subscription or trial. Email Viewer asks separately for your consent to send an email for AI processing. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
